I'm Not Crying, You're Crying!

Amber, a dear friend of mine from my hometown, has been supporting myself and my art all through COVID. Recently she reached out 4 weeks ago to do a very sentimental piece for her mother’s birthday this past weekend.

The concept was to include her mother’s late cousin Steven who passed away 18 years ago, her brother Marc who passed last October, as well as her three young grandchildren. We worked together to compile the imagery into a composition. This was a challenge because I was working with images from the 80’s, iPhone imagery as well as professional photography.

Amber and I worked together the entire process to ensure I was capturing everyone to the best of my ability. I must say, it gets intimidating when you’re drawing someone’s loved ones who they see daily and know better than you.

Thank you Amber for your trust in me and for the good cry! Moments like these make it so worth it and I’m so happy I can make a lasting impact on my clients and their families!
